Troubleseekers

Created by Fool's Moon Entertainment, Inc.

You are a Troubleseeker. An agent of Dame Fortuna. You are charged with taking back the luck stolen by the Oligarchs, the rich and powerful who suck the good luck out of others, leaving their victims destitute. It's time to balance the scales.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

A Close-Up of the Art
11 months ago – Sun, May 18, 2025 at 06:43:54 PM

Someone has asked to see the options in greater detail, so here we go!
Poll is once again attached below, to this update, so no need to scroll back.
The poll only supports ONE vote, but we are willing to run prints of a few designs, so vote for your top pick, and feel free to list the names of others you might want in the comments so we can tally up everything!
Apologies, the projects manager was ill for a bit; so the poll has been extended for an extra week, through the 28th:

Next Poll
11 months ago – Wed, May 07, 2025 at 04:47:55 PM

Only one vote, so art it is!
That's probably for the best anyway, as the tariff situation would make doing an enamel pin more volatile currently.
So, lots of options. Sadly it doesn't allow us to set the poll for multiple choice, so just go with what speaks most to you. We will probably order prints of the top two or three choices because we can offer the additional prints at conventions to raise funds for his family as well.
Set the poll for 2 weeks, and anyone with a Backerkit account can take the poll, so feel free to share it around if you know anyone else who may be interested in an art print. We will be adding the prints to the preorder store in addition to the survey add-ons, where anyone who missed the campaign can pick one up.

Can't Let the Oligarchs Win
11 months ago – Sun, Apr 27, 2025 at 12:48:32 AM

Hey, folks! We apologise for the delay between the smoke test and rest of surveys, but they have now all been sent!

The Oligarchs are stealing a lot of luck right now. We can't let them win.

Our projects manager lost their beloved cat in a horrific manner and has been dealing with grief and an expansion of a restraining order in combination with prepping to move for health and safety. On top of that it was the 4 year anniversary of their father's death in a terrible car wreck.

And if that weren't enough, there is now a project delay because our artist and layout guy, Rick Hershey, is experiencing an absolutely horrible ordeal. I'll let his own words (publicly shared) speak on it below. Their friend has a GoFundMe set up for them. We are considering creating an art piece or enamel pin from the project art he's done so far, and giving him all proceeds (minus production costs) to also help how we can with the costs he and his family are facing in light of the incident. If this is something y'all think we should do, let us know in the comments and we'll make a poll to let you folks decide what we should make that you can add on to help.

From Rick:

On Monday, April 21st, all four of our children and a friend of theirs were in a terrible accident and were gravely injured. Thankfully, everyone is alive, but injuries are extensive.

Our oldest, Mya, has multiple fractures in her hip, pelvis, and a dislocated knee. Marilyn broke a finger and her collarbone, and injured her lower back, but can sit with a brace. Madi has two fractures in her hip, but can stand and sit with help. And our youngest, Ricky, broke both his collar bones and had to have emergency surgery for internal injuries. He is stable but being watched for movement.

Their friend broke their femur and foot, and had to have surgery to have place rods and wires to reset them. They were the driver and may well have saved everyone's lives by seeing the other driver cross the line, turning their car, and slamming the breaks so hard they broke their foot and toes and turning the wheel and shielding Madi with his arm!

The other driver was going 70 mph and recklessly crossed the middle line. We don't know why they did it, but in case you are wondering -- yes, we are represented by a lawyer and they're pursuing legal avenues.

Everyone is alive and may even be coming home soon, but we have a long recovery ahead of us.

Sorry if I owe you work, an email, or haven't answered your call -- we've been very focused on our family and will be for some time.

If you would like to help out financially, our friend Tonya Sparks started a GoFundMe:

Smoke Tests
12 months ago – Sun, Apr 20, 2025 at 09:37:13 PM

Smoke tests have just gone out!
As long as there are no hiccups along the way, we should be about to send out the rest of surveys Tuesday morning. :)

And here's a peek at one of the new pieces of art for the game! We only asked for female + hijab + cards in hand. I think our artist knocked it out of the park! <3

Thanks, and Next Steps!

Thanks for all your support! 47 of you believed in the game and the music, raising $2186 CAD (that's just over $1550 USD!) towards making both a reality. After we take a short break we'll start setting up the pledge manager, and you should have surveys in a couple of weeks as soon as the funds release to us. We will have a few other Fool's Moon products available in the pledge manager, so if you're curious to check out some of our past games as well, you can get them all together!

Since our collab partner did not fund, we will discuss with them how to offer the collab bonus that wasn't reached, since the adventure on our end is complete. As mentioned in the comments of a previous update, we may add it to the pledge manager for a couple of dollars CAD and give it to our partner to offer future backers when they relaunch their project at another date. We'll let you know what gets decided!

We sadly did not quite reach the stretch goal for Downupright to expand the music into a longer album, but they still want to explore additional tracks, so if we can close the distance in the pledge manager and preorder store to reach the goal there's still a chance for more music! So if you know people who might enjoy the game or the music but missed the campaign - let them know they can still late pledge here: https://troubleseekers.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders (it will open when surveys go out so don't worry that you don't see anything there yet).

Our current projection is to have things in the mail by September 1st. We anticipate fulfilling prior to then, but we'd rather speculate longer and not need it than shorter and find we have to apologise if something arises to delay.
